EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Labuan Halal Hub Sdn Bhd (967978A) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Perbadanan Labuan. Labuan Halal Hub Sdn Bhd (LHHSB) is a co-operation project between Perbadanan Labuan and the Ministry of Federal Territory, Malaysia.
The main goal of the LHHSB is to act as a global distribution centre for Halal goods and services and to foster and promote Halal standards, standardization and accreditation internationally. LHHSB aims to provide Halal logistics and distribution services by providing warehouse, transportation, port, open yard that is compliant to the Malaysian Standard Halal Compliance. LHHSB’s logistics policy is to define, develop and document process towards the establishment of the first ever Halal Quality Management System.
COMPANY BACKGROUND
LHHSB was incorporated on 11th of November 2011. Since its inception, LHHSB has been operating as a developer and operator of Labuan Halal Hub in accordance with the requirement standards in Malaysia. It is located in Kiamsam, south-west of Labuan, with 18 acres of land which consists of office building, warehouse complex, and a processing plant. Its principal goal is to stimulate and encourage the growth of Halal industry in the country by providing halal warehousing, storage and distribution services from Sabah, Sarawak and overseas.
LOCATION
Labuan is strategically located in the middle of Asia Pacific region. Making it a geographical advantage by shortening the distance, saving the time and cutting the cost to reach major countries such as China, Japan, Indonesia, Australia, and Malaysia to name a few.
Secondly, the security level the location of the island has to offer. The position protects Labuan from major natural climate threats such as hurricanes and typhoons. Since 1990, Labuan was declared as an international offshore financial centre and free trade zone.
